e-batten offers a consistently high load bearing capacity at every point along every piece, making it an ideal lateral bracing element for roof trusses.

Wesbeam’s e-batten also has a better nail holding capacity than pine, which means that it delivers superior performance in high wind areas.

With smooth, chamfered edges e-batten is easy to work with and cuts and fixes just like any other pine section used by roof carpenters.

Wesbeam’s e-batten is available in lengths of 6.0m and 6.3m, which corresponds to rafter and truss spacing, minimizing off-cut wastage.

Wesbeam has developed e-batten in response to feedback from builders. Wesbeam’s research suggests that the decline in the quality of traditional roof batten materials such as pine and hardwood is prompting builders to look for an alternative.

At the same time, increasingly onerous occupational health and safety requirements are encouraging builders to specify battens of more consistent product quality to reduce the risk of roof carpenters and tile installers breaking battens when they step on them.
