Wesbeam is pleased to announce that Crosslam Australia has recently joined the Wesbeam Tall Timber Building Systems Prefabricator Partnership Program.

Through participation in the program, both Wesbeam and Crosslam recognise that their respective engineered timber products can be complimentary in many situations.

Dr David Bylund, Wesbeam’s Tall Timber Building Systems Architect and Team Lead said, “By creating an environment where we can work together, the path-to-market for engineered timber solutions will become more streamlined and contribute to the emerging prefabricated timber commercial construction sector.”

Crosslam Australia manufactured the first Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) panels in Australia and has its roots as a construction company building multistorey buildings. The synergies with Wesbeam are significant. Both are Australian owned and make their products from local Australian products sourced from sustainable forests.

“Crosslam recognise the importance of mass timber construction and that there is not one solution for each client’s need. There are a number of different solutions to suit the engineering properties of the project as well as budgets.” Says Philip Kemp, Operations Manager for Crosslam.

Philip continues to say that “the LVL supplied by Wesbeam for beams, columns and cassette systems will complement another solution to their CLT offering. This strengthens our experience and understanding of product offerings and what solutions developers look for. Joining the Wesbeam Tall Timber Building Systems Prefabricator Partnership Program assists Crosslam with providing maximum value for our clients. We recently conducted trials with Wesbeam LVL and the fabrication quality has been excellent. The technical assistance I received from David Bylund and the engineering team at Wesbeam has been second to none.”
