In any complex, fast-moving distribution network, the ability to manage production schedules in real time is a competitive advantage. At Wesbeam, this capability is delivered by Griffin, an in-house developed scheduling tool designed to give Distribution Centres (DC’) full control over order fulfilment, resource planning, and inventory management.

Griffin is more than a scheduler, it’s a powerful, visual management platform that integrates seamlessly with the Wesbeam’s broader ERP environment. The result is an intuitive system that allows operations teams to react quickly to changes, plan proactively, and maintain a high level of service consistency across all locations.

Visual Control

Griffin provides a clear, interactive interface that displays all scheduled jobs for each DC. Each job is tagged with relevant details, including its delivery destination (merchant or site), source (quote or confirmed order), and current status.

With simple drag-and-drop functionality, schedulers can shift jobs from one day to another in response to changing priorities or constraints. When a change is made, Griffin automatically updates the corresponding sales document within the ERP system, ensuring data integrity and operational alignment across the entire business.

Smarter Decisions, Backed by Real-Time Data

Griffin doesn’t just show what’s happening, it shows what’s possible. It overlays production schedules with:

  • Forecast stock availability based on production output from the Neerabup factory;
  • Shipping lead times from WA to each DC; and
  • Planned daily capacity for each DC.

This enables teams to make decisions based on real constraints, not assumptions, preventing overloads, improving workflow balance, and increasing overall reliability.

The introduction of Griffin has delivered tangible benefits across Wesbeam’s national operations:

  • Improved planning efficiency: Schedulers spend less time interpreting spreadsheets and more time making informed decisions.
  • Reduced order errors: Seamless ERP integration ensures that changes made in Griffin are accurately reflected across all systems.
  • Greater agility: DC’s can respond quickly to customer changes, production delays, or supply chain disruptions.
  • Better resource utilisation: Visibility of workload against capacity ensures even distribution of labour and operational throughput.

Griffin represents the kind of innovation that distinguishes Wesbeam in the market, purpose-built technology, developed in-house, and designed to solve real-world operational challenges.
