At this year’s annual City of Wanneroo Business Awards, Wesbeam and its employees were recognised for their outstanding contributions and achievements within the community. Daniel Jackson was awarded Trainee/Apprentice of the Year, while Shane Jaschinsky was recognised as runner-up for Employee of the Year.
Daniel Jackson | Trainee/Apprentice of The Year
In 2022, Wesbeam, like many in the Australian manufacturing sector, was facing a significant shortage of qualified Mechanical Fitters in the Perth market. Daniel Jackson saw it as an opportunity to step up, learn a new trade, and provide value where it was most needed. On his own initiative, Daniel approached leadership with a request to commence an adult apprenticeship in mechanical fitting.
Already an essential member of the maintenance team in his existing trade, Daniel was willing to split his time and take on a completely new qualification to meet a critical business need.
Daniel commenced his formal apprenticeship in 2023, with an expected completion date of July 2026. However, through a display of dedication and discipline, Daniel successfully completed his apprenticeship in just 2.5 years, earning full qualification in August 2025, 12 months ahead of schedule.
Upon completion of his apprenticeship in August 2025, Daniel was immediately promoted to the position of Mechanical Rotating Shift Fitter, recognising both his achievement and the high regard in which he is held by management.
Daniel Jackson is an outstanding example of what an apprentice can be when drive, discipline, and dedication come together, and this is why Wesbeam were proud to nominate Daniel for this fantastic award.
This marks the third consecutive year that a Wesbeam employee has received the Trainee/Apprentice of the Year award. It is a testament not only to the commitment of our employees but also to Wesbeam’s ongoing investment in developing our people and empowering them to grow within the business.

Wesbeam was proud to nominate Shane Jaschinsky for the Employee of the Year award, where he earned the distinction of runner-up.
Since joining Wesbeam in 2013, Shane quickly became known for his “can-do” attitude, reliability, and positive energy. He embodies our core values: Be Best and Be Ethical, delivering excellence in his work while supporting his peers with honesty, patience, and professionalism. He is a Level 3 Operator, the highest level achievable in our plant, which reflects both his technical competency and breadth of experience across the production facility.
In a business like Wesbeam, where we pride ourselves on doing more with less, Shane is the embodiment of that ethos. He lifts people up, leads from within, and brings our company’s mission and values to life every day.
Customer Service Excellence Award
Wesbeam was proud to be recognised as runner-up for the Customer Service Excellence Award, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering reliable, end-to-end service to merchants and builders. Customer service at Wesbeam extends beyond the desk or phone line, combining expert human support with sophisticated in-house software tools to ensure orders are delivered in full, on time, every time (DIFOTA).
This integrated approach includes local Customer Service Officers, a national technical hotline, live website chat, and advanced logistics and scheduling systems, all designed to provide fast answers, accurate stock availability, and seamless delivery coordination. By continually monitoring performance, anticipating customer needs, and optimising processes, Wesbeam ensures that every interaction is efficient, reliable, and adds value for its customers - a commitment recognised by this prestigious award.
