If you’d like to take a closer look at our quality control systems and on-site laboratory, then we’ve produced a short video for you. Watch it below.

To ensure highest product quality, all Wesbeam products are certified by peak Australian authorities. EWPAA certifies for bond quality and structural properties whereas CodeMark for termite/borer treatments.

Bonds and Structural Performance Properties

Wesbeam Quality Management System aims to ensure every Wesbeam product not only meets its required bond and structural properties, but that it also meets other product quality parameters such as dimensions, coatings and branding, as well as customer specific requirements.

EWPAA

The EWPAA is an accredited LVL, I-Joist, plywood and veneer product certifier by the peak certifying body in Australasia, the Joint Accreditation System – Australia and New Zealand (JAS-NZS).  JAS-ANZ certified products meet the acceptance criteria of the National Construction Code (NCC) of Australia; and State and Commonwealth purchasing authorities.

All Wesbeam manufactured products meet specific performance properties which are independently tested or verified through our participation in the EWPAA Quality Control Policy and Product Certification Scheme.  Wesbeam staff actively support the maintenance of this Quality Assurance program.

Termite and Fungicide Treatments

LVL manufactured at Wesbeam will either be untreated or treated to provide protection against termite and/or fungal attack.  Two methods are used for these treatments:

  1. Glue-line, e2S (termite resistant treatment suitable for use in the South of the Tropic of Capricorn)
  2. LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative), H2 and H3 (termite and fungicide treatment) suitable for use in all geographic areas including above the Tropic of Capricorn

For products manufactured with a glue-line termiticide treatment, the termiticide is added in the glue (adhesive) used for veneer lamination to achieve an acceptable level of treatment for use in the South of the Tropic of Capricorn and is suitable for internal use that is above ground.  This treatment is carried out in accordance with CodeMark® Certification.  LOSP treatments, H2 and H3, of LVL are carried out at the Wesbeam LOSP treatment plant and comply AS/NZS 1604. The effectiveness of termiticide and fungicide retention levels are ensured for ongoing compliance.

CodeMark®

CodeMark® is a voluntary building product certification scheme designed and managed by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB).  Products which carry CodeMark® stamp of approval are guaranteed to comply with or exceed the Building Code of Australia’s (BCA) performance requirements.

To achieve CodeMark® certification, Wesbeam’s innovative treatment processes must be strictly audited by third-party experts and checked annually.  This rigorous, independent assessment is the guarantee of treatment compliance, quality and performance for any Wesbeam product bearing the CodeMark® stamp.
