Wesbeam is excited and honoured to receive the Best Business of the Year Award at the Wanneroo Business Association annual award night, held on Friday 3rd November.
Wesbeam began operations in the city of Wanneroo in 2003 with the commencement of construction of its $100m world scale state of the art laminated veneer lumber (LVL) manufacturing facility located within the Neerabup Industrial Precinct on 10ha of land. Over the past 20 years, the company has continued to invest in the operations at Neerabup.
LVL is a key structural load-bearing beam in the construction of house roofs, walls and floors and replaces old growth hardwood timbers and steel that has otherwise been required in these applications.
Wesbeam is now a major supplier of LVL to the Australian housing industry, distributing its products across the country through distribution and sales centres located in each mainland capital city.
Wesbeam employs 175 team members at the Neerabup facility, which operates 24/7, 50 weeks per year and is proud to be a member of the City of Wanneroo community.
Wesbeam employs an additional 80 team members across Australia, including a large sales team and state distribution centre operations teams.
In addition, the company has a significant engineering, design and estimation team that assists home builders to comply with engineering and building code requirements.
The company applauds the City of Wanneroo and the Wanneroo Business Association in their endeavours which are aimed at supporting and recognising innovation, creativity and capacity within the city’s business community to benefit residents of the City of Wanneroo and all those who are employed within the City.
Wesbeam was also very pleased to be awarded the Technology Excellence award and one of Wesbeam’s employees, Sophia Stewart, won the Trainee/Apprentice of the Year award.
