LVL - Laminated Veneer Lumber - comparable in strength to steel and concrete with all the flexibility and environmental benefits of wood
Design guides, installation guides, available sizes and safety data sheets can all be found here
Wesbeam’s Design Centre offers an engineering and design service in the use of Wesbeam and other complementary products for residential, multi-residential and commercial structures
Over 85% of Australian detached houses are constructed using lightweight timber framing.
Tall Timber Building Systems [TTBS] provides a range of engineered wood based solutions for commercial and multi-residential structures
Readily available and lightweight for its strength. Strong, sustainable and carbon capturing, wood is the greatest renewable resource
Tall Timber Building Systems comprise a range of element types that, in combination, can construct almost any building type or form.
Efficient structural solutions can be created by combining Wesbeam Tall Timber Buildings System elements based on building typology, form and available third-party fabrication capacity.
Elements shown below are for illustrative purposes only. They represent typical structural components such that will be manufactured upstream from Wesbeam by prefabricators using either Wesbeam e-beam or e-slab products.
The Wesbeam Tall Timber Building Systems design team can assist with detailed design advice on sizing and element types specifically for your project as well as connect you to prefabricators in your area.

LVL Box Beam elements can be used as floor beams, band beams and ring beams and portal frames. Top and bottom flanges are typically 63mm thick and webs typically 45mm to 63mm thick. They range from 300mm to 1200mm deep depending on span, load, services requirements and architectural intent.
6.2m x 400 x 189
7.2m x 600 x 189
8.2m x 800 x 189
9.2m x 1200 x 189
LVL Mass Beam elements can be used in as floor beams, band beams and ring beams and portal frames. Beams are comprised of laminated LVL lamella flanges from 300mm to 1200mm deep depending on span, load, services requirements and architectural intent.
Lightweight LVL cassette or box floors are suitable for use in all cellular type multi residential projects. Cassettes are nominally 1.2m wide and can economically span five to nine meters. Thicknesses range from 100mm to 300mm subject to span and design loads.
(subject to load calculations)
Massive (Solid) LVL floor elements suitable for use where additional horizontal bracing is required. Timber element thicknesses range from 90mm to 280mm subject to span and design loads. Each panel element comprises multiple lamellas of LVL billet / slab. Diaphragm action can be achieved through fixing design from element to element and from element to beam.
LVL frame wall elements suitable for cellular construction such as multi-residential buildings up to six storeys.
Massive / Solid LVL wall elements suitable for all cellular type multi-storey buildings, and as stair and service shafts.
